We had a wonderful afternoon this afternoon. Two of the primary Montessori classes performed for us in the gym. We also saw a school slide show. Today we had our last library block of the school year. It is hard to believe that next week is June! We had a really fun day today. In fine arts we started Pointillism and worked on mixing colours today. We also had Eureka! come in today and they looked at Canadian inventions with the students. Monday

We have started the last five crazy weeks. There are a lot of things coming up before the end of the year, but we still have a lot of work to do in class. Please make sure that your child is coming prepared everyday with everything they need. Remind them to make sure that they have all of their research with them before coming to school. Thursday

Good luck to all of the students participating in the zone track meet tomorrow. A reminder that if your child is participating and you want your child to go home that you need to check with Mrs. Doherty. Any parent sending their child home with someone else needs to send a note so that we have the information in writing. Tuesday

Today was a busy day. The children need to make sure that their beading projects are finished tomorrow as we need to return the looms. Please make sure if you want to have your name entered in the draw to come to Eagle Bay that you return the paper or write me a note as soon as possible. I will be drawing on Thursday. Many children are bringing home permission forms for the zone track meet on Friday. Please have these returned tomorrow. Thursday

What a great day out at Tranquille Farm today. The weather was beautiful! We had a lot of fun playing games, learning about chickens, watching fields be plowed by horses and making a scarecrow. A wonderful way to spend the morning. Please make sure that if you plan on signing up to put your name into the draw for parent chaperones for Eagle Bay that you return your form by Tuesday so that I can let the parents who are chosen to come know as soon as possible. A reminder that tomorrow is a Pro-D Day so that there is no school. Also Monday is a holiday so there will be no school again until Tuesday. Enjoy your extra long weekend!

Wednesday

I hope that everyone had a great day at the Track Meet today. A few reminders for our field trip tomorrow. Please make sure that you are dressed for the weather and are wearing sunscreen and a hat. Closed toe shoes are a must as we will be on a farm. Please make sure that you have a water bottle and a lunch packed in a backpack. Get some rest after today. Have a good night!

Tuesday

Tomorrow is the track meet and it plans to go ahead rain or shine. Please make sure that your child is dressed for the weather and has a water bottle and a hat. There will be a concession run as well. Each child was supposed to write all of the events and the schedule into their agenda. Children will know by early next week if they are advancing to the zones or not. Have a great night and I hope we get a rain free day tomorrow!

Friday

It was a full day today. The children who took part in the 4 Cats field trip will be bringing their paintings home today. They also chose the activities they are going to take part in on Wednesdays track meet. They should be written in their agendas with the time. Thursday

We had a very special treat today. Madame Hughes, who is the district language coordinator, came into our classroom to give a French lesson. I think that we all enjoyed learning some new French vocabulary and games. We also enjoyed silent reading outside again today. We are sure loving this weather! We had a really good day today. We went to our final YPC this morning and listened to a good music group, Cadence. We had a really good talk about the bullying that has been taking place lately and we focused on cyber bullying. Please make sure that you talk to your child about this. We had a very busy day today. We started the day with the school and class photos. The photos were taken outside and I am curious to see the windy look. The children had a lot of time for work today. The grade 4 and 5 wrote a math test. Grade 6's will write theirs on Monday. The children worked very well this morning and a lot of work was handed in. Today was day two in our month of May gratitude challenge. The objective today was to high five 5 people. Well it was a first today. For the first time this year we did not have any overdue library books! Let's keep it up for the rest of the year.
