Wow! It is hard to believe that the school year is now over. I was truly overwhelmed with all of the thoughts and gifts of thanks from everyone today. I hope that you all have a wonderful summer. I am looking forward to touching base with everyone in September. See you in the fall!!!

Well, even though we didn't go out on a field trip today, we had a fun virtual one in the classroom. The children started the day doing activities to acknowledge National Aboriginal Day. I then banded each of them with a "duck band" and we went online and they had to find out what kind of duck they were. Once they had that figured out we got into our "flock" groups and did even more activities. Looking at different pictures of animals and listening to sound clips to try and discover who we saw on our "field trip" to the "pond" today. It was a lot of fun and one student even told me that he thought that our in class field trip was even more fun than he thought the actual one was. Homework this weekend is just to read daily for 30 minutes. Have a great weekend. I can't believe that next week is our last one! A reminder that on Monday we will be back from our field trip closer to 3 as we are taking the city bus and have to rely on their schedule. If that time is a problem for you, you are more than welcome to come and pick up your child from the TCC pool at 2:10.

Due to the recent heavier than normal rains I might be cancelling the field trip tomorrow. I will wait to see if it continues to rain overnight and into the morning. My fear is that the rains have made the shoreline unstable and I do not want the children to fall in. Also I don't want softer ground to create a disruption of the habitat that we are going to explore. In the morning make sure the children are dressed for any weather and that they have on sunscreen a hat and have a water bottle with them. If the weather turns warm we will be playing in the water park and in the field while we are at the park so make sure they have a good lunch and a towel. Thank you!

Today in science we started to look at the last couple of simple machines in our study the pulley and the wheel and axle. We will be looking at compound machines later in the week. If you are able to drive on Friday if you can please put a note in your child's agenda it would be helpful. Homework tonight: - home reading - any unfinished work Have a good night.

It was a busy day today trying to get things finished up with less than two weeks left to the year! We are still short drivers for our field trip to Gamble Pond on Friday. If I don't have more drivers by Wednesday I will cancel the trip. We had a lot of fun at the end of the day reviewing grammar by playing mad libs. Homework tonight: - home reading - math if not complete - lever package if not complete - WITW and map if not complete Have a wonderful night!

Another day of tired children. We had fun making some little things for our dads today. Please make sure that any WITW or Science that has not been completed is done for Monday. Also, please think about the year and try to come up with a favorite memory that you have had. Have a good weekend!

We had a wonderful time in Eagle Bay at the beginning of the week and there were some pretty tired people in the class today. Make sure that you get to bed early tonight and keep resting. There are two new field trip forms coming home today, if you could please have those returned by next Wednesday. Homework tonight: - home reading - WITW and map due tomorrow - sleep! Have a good night!

Well judging by all the tired faces it looks like the children had a good bike trip this afternoon. Rest up this weekend as we leave on Monday for Eagle Bay! I think I am just as excited as the children. Please make sure that your child's bedding has been labeled and is placed outside by the garden and the school on Monday morning. If it is raining please bring it into the classroom. Please make sure that your child has running shoes (perhaps have them wear them as they are less bulky to pack), as well as a water bottle. Sunscreen and insect repellent are also good items to make sure that they have. Have a great weekend, rest up and we will see you Monday morning!!!
