Today the year 5/6 students watched Les Trois Petits Cochons in French. They were so excited because they were able to follow along and understood quite a lot of the vocabulary as the story was told using the actions we have been learning in AIM. The year 4 students wrote their math tests today. Please make sure that your child is reading a Red Cedar book for their home reading. Some of them need to read these more often to make sure that they are able to vote in April for their favorite book. After working with the year 6's today we have decided to postpone their math test until Friday. Some of the children were still unclear of the concepts of interior angles of a triangle and quadrilateral. They all have a much better understanding now and I want to give them a couple of days to continue working with these concepts before testing. Today we had a very busy day. The children completed a mid year evaluation on themselves and their behaviour in the class/school. I will be sending these home this week for you to look at. On this sheet your child has also set goals that they would like to achieve for themselves for the remainder of the year. Today we also took part in a reading assessment where each of them read with me for a short period. These evaluations take up a large part of the day for the students and because of this, combined with the shortened week and the year 6's being gone for Thursday and Friday there will be no spelling this week. Homework tonight: - home reading - my podium pages - ss projects due this week Have a good night.
