Tuesday

I had the children write a "Citizenship Test" today as we are talking about immigration. We will be doing a project on Friday that requires magazines so if you have any that you could donate to the classroom (they will be cut up) it would be appreciated. Homework tonight:

Spelling

This week only the year 5 and 6's are going to be having a spelling test due to FSA's. Because the day was so busy I wanted to post the spelling list in case some children did not finish copying it down.

Monday

I was so proud of all of the children today and all of the help they provided to make this afternoons citizenship ceremony a success. I was approached by a few people this afternoon who told me how wonderful all of the work the students did help make the day even more special for them. There will be no spelling for the year 4 students this week as they will be writing FSA tests and be out of the classroom over the course of the week. Homework tonight:

Friday

We had a very busy day today. Novel study groups met, there was math and French review and the children continued to make decorations for Monday's Citizenship assembly. Homework:

- Pit Pony Ch. 3 by Tuesday

Thursday

Today we did some role playing when talking about bullying to practice being assertive. The steps we talked about when talking to a bully were standing tall, looking at the person's face, using a strong voice, think "I can do this" and say the person's name and name the behavior that you want them to stop. Homework tonight:

Wednesday

We met to discuss the Citizenship ceremony today that will be taking place on Monday. The children from our classroom will be playing a role in the ceremony by greeting our guests and serving refreshments. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately. Homework tonight:
