Monday
Today the students worked really well and were really focused on their tasks today. We spent some time this morning looking at food chains and reading the book Wolf Island. The children should each be bringing home a food chain they created. Please have them explain the food chain to you and they can tell you the story of what happened on Wolf Island. They should also be able to tell you how the environment can change what happens in a food chain. Homework tonight:
- home reading
- study spelling (11 sentences to write this week parsing adjectives)
- grammar (article/adjective activity)
- DARE interview
- Book fair starts tomorrow (please sign up for a shift if you are able to help, lunch and after school could use more help)
Have a good night!

Friday
Today was a VERY exciting day! This afternoon the children presented their Math Expo Projects to the class. These were all very well done. This morning Ms. Carter and I also introduced a new project the Red Cedar Book Award Program. The children will be reading books for home reading this year from the Red Cedar book list. They will create a reading log and make on line posts of their book reviews. In April they will get a chance to vote along with other children taking part in the program on their favorite book and that book will be awarded the Red Cedar Book Award. Please ask your child to show you the Red Cedar website. Homework this weekend:
- home reading (Red Cedar book!)
- any unfinished work
Have a good weekend!
