Friday

We have had a bit of a problem in the classroom lately with respect. The level of respect has gone down in many areas, mainly towards the classroom work environment. I have been talking with the children a lot this week about making sure that just because they have finished an assignment and have time to do a choice activity does not mean that everyone in the room is done and they need to respect the work environment. Many times when I am trying to talk or give a lesson children are also getting up to wander around the room, talking to a friend or are not paying attention. I know that the holidays are coming up and that the children are excited but this does not excuse the behaviour. Can you please reinforce this with your child at home this weekend. I appreciate your help with this matter. Homework this weekend: - home reading - reading response - unfinished WITW or Can. Thursday

We had a wonderful performance this afternoon. If you were not able to attend I hope that you can make it tonight. Please drop the children off to our classroom door between 5:30-5:50. If you are not able to make it tonight and you have not let me know can you please do so. This way I do not worry. Homework tonight: - home reading - concert! Have a good night!

Tuesday

We had a wonderful work block day today. Lots of great work was getting accomplished. We also had some concert practice. I hope you will be able to make one of the two concerts. On Thursday there will be a K-5 Concert at 1:30 and 6:00. For the evening concert the doors will be locked until 5:30. The children are to come to the classroom at this time. If your child will be unable to come back for the evening concert can you please let me know. Homework tonight: - home reading - library tomorrow (changed due to concert) - unfinished work have a good night.

Friday

We had a wonderful day today. The children worked very hard today. A reminder that for next Thursday's holiday concert the 4/5 students have been asked to wear black (or dark) coloured pants and a white, red or green shirt. Homework this weekend: - home reading - any unfinished work - do not wear best clothes on Monday we are painting! Have a great weekend.

Thursday

We had a busy day today. Some of the first blog posts were made on the Red Cedar website. We also worked with our little buddies creating a countdown until Christmas and a buddy hand tree. Homework tonight: - home reading - report card envelopes - skating forms - secret Santa we will draw names Friday - Kamloops Senior Village forms returned - rough copy of letter Have a good night.

Wednesday

A few of the children have asked to do Secret Santa so if you would like your child to take part please write a note in their agenda before Friday. We will draw names for those wanting to take part on Friday. Gifts are a maximum of $10 please. We also started writing a persuasive writing piece in class today. Please ask your child to tell you about what they have chosen to write. Homework tonight: - home reading - finish writing if not complete - library and gym tomorrow - report card envelope and skating form Have a good night.

Tuesday

It was very cold out today and many of the children were not dressed for the weather. Please make sure that your child has boots, snow pants, coat, gloves/mittens, scarf/neck warmer and hat. Homework tonight: - home reading - spelling challenge words (creating their own words that they struggle with 4-5, 5-7, 6-10) - skating permission slips - report card envelopes Have a good night.
