Butter Tart Recipe

1/2 butter 2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 coconut 1 cup raisins (I usually soak them first to plump them up, pour boiling water over and let sit) 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla Mix together and fill tart shells 2/3 full. Bake in oven for 450 for 10 minutes then drop the temperature to 425 for 10 minutes.

Thursday

We had a wonderful time on our field trip to the public library today. Many of the children have books that they have taken out and they should also have a slip of paper telling their due date. These can be returned to the public library or to the library return box on the top floor of Aberdeen Mall. Wednesday

It was a wonderful work block day in the classroom today. The children were all getting a lot of work completed. It is great to see that many of them have been working on their heritage fair projects at home. Tuesday

We had a great day today. The grade five students created a metric cube out of newspaper and had a lot of fun with it. We continued to work on our heritage fair projects today and will do so again tomorrow so please make sure that your child is coming prepared and is working on this project at home too. Monday

We had a wonderful day in the classroom today. For a writing topic today the children had to tell me about three creative uses for a pen with no ink. We have also decided to do some baking on Friday. Some of the children have been asked to bring in ingredients. Tomorrow and Wednesday the children will be given time to work on their heritage fair topics. Please make sure that they come to school prepared to do this. Wednesday

There is a very important field trip from coming home today. Next Thursday we will be visiting the public library and I need to have the library card sheets filled in and returned ASAP. Even if your child already has their own library card we have been asked to have these sheets returned. We will be having a tour of the library and then will have a chance to look for some books for our heritage research projects. Tuesday March 3

Sorry for no post last night. Over the last couple of days I have had a chance to meet with the children regarding their Heritage Fair projects. If you have not yet signed your child's form could you please do so now. Many of the topics are very exciting and it is wonderful to see the children so excited about them. We will be having time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in class to work on these projects so please make sure that your child has what they need to work at school on these days. Many of the children brought in flash drives today which was wonderful. Please make sure that you have shown your child how to use and safely remove these so that they know what to do. It is hard for me to teach them when I am trying to help others gather research. Also, we will have no spelling over the next couple of weeks so that we can devote more class time to our projects.
