Thursday

We spent some time this afternoon learning about the life of the artist Emily Carr. The children were using great words to describe her art work. Tomorrow we are taking part in a school wide Terry Fox run. Please if you are able send $2 with your child to send to the Terry Fox Foundation. Tomorrow and Monday I will be giving the children class time work on putting together their heritage fair back boards. Please make sure that your child comes with what they will need. Tuesday

Today I gave the children a quick lesson in how to use the citation builder in Worldbook. This will help them to create their bibliography for their Heritage Fair project. Tomorrow we will be working on Art Cards. This is a fundraiser where the children create an image to be made into a card. I have asked the children to ask at home and see what kind of card their parent would like them to create. Some might want a birthday theme, or a thank you card. Please let your child know what you would like if you have a preference. Thursday

We had a lot of fun today. We took our little buddies out for an Easter Egg hunt and saw the Easter Bunny running around the field. We also finished working on our zebra eyes in fine arts. A reminder that there is no school tomorrow or Monday due to the Easter long weekend. Homework this weekend is working on Heritage Fair projects. There are two notices coming home today. Wednesday

Today we had a great work block day. We also had library this afternoon. Many of the children still have library books at home that are overdue. Please make sure if you child has books at home that they bring them back either to return them or renew them. Thank you. Tuesday

Tomorrow we will have some more class time available to work on our Heritage Fair projects. Please make sure that you child is coming with work to do. Monday

Wow did today go by quickly!! The children worked hard today. A reminder that we will be using some class time to work on their Heritage Fair projects tomorrow and Wednesday so they need to come to class prepared to do this. If they would like my help with editing rough copies I would like to see these no later than Wednesday. Friday

Wow what a busy day! We had our science quiz this morning to finish off our unit on renewable and non-renewable resources. We then read the story Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi to talk about how tomorrow is Pi Day (3.14). Then we made some butter tarts, the children really seemed to enjoy them (as did the staff, yummy!). We finished off the day helping our little buddies celebrate 100 days of school. I hope that everyone has a wonderful break. See you all on March 30th!!
