Tuesday

Today we worked on creating flags to help to celebrate International Day of Peace tomorrow.  We also reviewed the first of the Five Great Lessons and read the story Born With A Bang.  Homework tonight:

 - study spelling
 - open house from 4-5
 - PAC BBQ 5-7

Monday

We talked about the four different types of sentences today.  Ask you child if they are able to tell you about the four of them and describe them.  Congratulations to the year 5/6 students, they did a wonderful job of spelling their names in French for me today!  We read another chapter of Danny the Champion of the World today, the children are really enjoying it.  A reminder that there is gym tomorrow and your child will need gym strip.  Homework today:

 - study spelling
 - math 4p. 12 #1-4, 5p. 11 #1-6, 6p. 14 #1-6 if not complete
 - year 6 students have one of their maps due on Thursday
 - open house tomorrow evening is from 4-5 and the PAC BBQ to follow from 5-7

A reminder that there is no school Friday so spelling dictation will be on Thursday this week.

A reminder of the Open House next Tuesday evening in the classroom from 4-5 and the PAC BBQ to follow from 5-7.  Also don't forget that next Friday is a professional development day and there is no school for students this day.  Homework this weekend:

Thursday

Wow today was a busy day!  We worked on colours in French today and started working in our Write Traits.  Everyone is bringing home a permission slip for the Terry Fox Run.  Homework tonight:

 - study spelling (dictation tomorrow)
 - Terry Fox permission slip
 - school fees if not paid
 - gym strip if not at the school
 - math if not complete. 4 p. 8 #1-7, 5p. 8 #1-7, 6 p. 8 #1-10
  - French if not complete (5/6)

Wednesday

We had a wonderful day again today.  I managed to read with most of the children today and will read with the few I missed tomorrow.  A reminder that gym classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays so please make sure that your child has gym strip for tomorrow.

Welcome Back!

I am looking forward to another great year with the children this year.  Today we started using our Math textbooks for the first time, the grade fives also had their first French lesson today!

We had a great week in Barkerville last week and still have a lot to do before the end of the year.  Please help your child put their pictures into a google document for school tomorrow.  They will be creating a slide show journal of their Barkerville experience.  Homework tonight:
