Thursday

Today we finished our "Worry Work" and the program "What To Do If You Worry Too Much." Please ask your child two different ways that you can reset your system when you are worried. I will be away at a workshop again tomorrow, but will be back on Monday. The Year 4's will write their final FSA's tomorrow for Numeracy. Good luck to them! Due to this they will not have a spelling dictation. The year 5 and 6's will have a dictation as normal. Tuesday

Today we reviewed prepositions and used them in sentences. The grade 4's wrote two more FSA's today. A notice is going home with all grade 5/6 students going on the ski trip. Friday

A lot of good work was done in the classroom today. The children are starting to work more quietly and stay more focused during work block times. A reminder that the deadline for hot lunch orders is Sunday. A reminder that these are now done online. Thursday

A reminder that tomorrow is the final day to return your pink shirt order forms to the office. Grade 4's could be doing FSA practice on line for math and reading if they have no evening homework. Wednesday

Today in French the grade 5/6's learned about using aime and n'aime pas to show likes and dislikes. All of the children will be having a very short Science quiz on Friday. This will be a review of Chapter 8 talking about resources. The grade 6's will also have a math quiz on Friday on Chapter 3 - decimals. Tuesday

Today the children are creating a list of all items that they throw in the garbage or recycling. We will compare these lists tomorrow for Science. We also started to look closely at organization in writing. We talked about how every good piece of writing has a strong beginning, middle and end. Mr. Michell came in again today to continue working on the Haida Art piece he has been working on with the children. Monday

FSA week is taking place for the grade 4's next week. I took the children into the computer lab today and showed them how to log on to the practice test online. I also showed them how to change font size and how to make the pages move to a side by side. If your child would like to practice these or you would like to see a sample it can be found through our schools website.
