Friday

What a busy day.  Your little elves have been working hard today on holiday surprises.  Please make sure that all Secret Santa gifts are returned to the classroom for Monday.  We have some children who will not be here for all of next week and this way they can have their Secret Santa gift before they leave.

Wednesday

Tomorrow we go for our final skate of the year.  Please make sure that your child has their skates, helmet and appropriate clothing for skating in the morning.  We will be bringing some sticks from the school for the children to use if they would like, however, they must have a cage/face protector on their helmet for this to happen.

Thursday

Today we took part in the Hour of Code.  Please ask your child to explain to you which theme they chose to do.  Homework tonight:

 - home reading
 - study spelling
 - song practice
 - spelling sheets if not complete
 - Secret Santa
 - Library tomorrow

Wednesday December 6th

This afternoon we blast off into the Solar System on a Virtual Reality Field Trip.  The students had a lot of fun exploring the planets.  We also started song practice today for our Christmas Concert.  Please encourage your child to be practicing their song at home.  Homework tonight:

 - government worksheets if not complete
 - practice songs
 - What in the World/Canadian Readers due Friday

Friday

Today the students did another STEM challenge and had to construct a lunar lander that would keep their "astronauts" in from a fall of 30cm.  They had a lot of fun with this task and there were some very creative vehicles built.  Homework this weekend:

 - home reading
 - 2 rocks (if not already brought in)
 - donation items if possible
 - picture of themselves with Santa/Christmas/Winter (please write your name on the back, they will be returned)
 - ideas for kindness calendar

Tuesday

We had such a great day today.  Using virtual reality technology we took a field trip to the Parliament buildings in Ottawa this afternoon.  The children had so much fun!

I was so proud of the children today helping their little buddies skate!  They were such a big help and even little ones who had never been on skates before all had some success today!  Homework tonight:
