A few people asked me to hold off on placing the Scholastic order today, so if you would like to place a September order please make sure it is in first thing in the morning. The grade 4's and I had a great meeting this afternoon and talked a lot about how they are feeling after being in grade four for a month. On Wednesday we will be creating this years art cards, please dress for art! Homework tonight:

What an amazing day today was. It was the Terry Fox Run at the school today. Thank you to all of those parents who came out and joined us this afternoon. Also thank you so much to all of the students in this class. We could not have done the run without all of your help and organization. Especially the warm up to "What Would Terry Fox Say." The whole school enjoyed themselves and you should be very proud of yourself. A reminder that there is no school tomorrow. Homework this weekend:

Today I gave each of the children a dry erase sheet that allows them to plan out their work that they would like to do this day. We got a lot of work done in the classroom today. We had a practice fire drill with our buddies this morning. It went really well. Today was a good day. We made a portrait of ourselves holding a list of three goals we would each like to achieve this year. We read another chapter of our class read aloud, Danny the Champion of the World. We carried on working on some of the sheets that we started yesterday. Going home today will also be a notice about the school fruit and veg. program. Please return it along with your school supply fees (if not already paid) as soon as possible. Homework this weekend:
- Pringles chip can (empty) if possible
- home reading 30 minutes a day

What a wonderful first day everyone had today. The year 4's did amazing for their first day in an intermediate classroom. We went over classroom expectations today as well as started our first classroom read aloud Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl. I sent home a classroom newsletter today as well as a food allergy sheet so that I can start planning our cooking sessions. If you could please return this as soon as possible it would be appreciated. I am looking forward to a wonderful year this year!

Today the children spent the day in their clan groups. These groups will be meeting periodically throughout the year to do activities. Today they went through 9 different stations and learned all the expectations around the school. Tomorrow the new class lists should be posted outside around 8am. Have a good night. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with our new students!
