Friday
We had such a fun time at our Clan Meetings today. We talked about making good choices and what that looks like. Report cards went home today. Please return the envelope signed, you keep the report. Monday is a ProD day so there is no school. A reminder that the Year 6 field trip forms are due back on Tuesday if they are choosing to attend. Have a great weekend!

Thursday
We had a lot of fun at a Teddy Bear Picnic with our little buddies this morning. We helped them go through five stations. It was cute to see the big buddies play dress up hospital with the little buddies and their bears. Tomorrow we will meet with Ms. Carter so please make sure that your child has their Red Cedar book at school. Tomorrow we will also be meeting in our clan groups and having a school assembly. I have asked the children to wear their DARE shirts if they can. Homework tonight:

We had a wonderful morning today. Safety Bear came to help us celebrate our DARE graduation. The children had cake and juice to celebrate and all received T-shirts and a graduation certificate that they should be bringing home. We are having an assembly on Friday and if possible I would like to have the children wear their DARE shirts on that day. Homework tonight:

We unfortunately had to postpone our field trip to the Kamloops Seniors Village today. They did not have the staff available today due to unforeseen illness and a memorial service today. I have sent December Scholastic forms home today for those interested. If we would like to try and have them back before the holidays we should try to have them in for this Friday. I had told the children Tuesday but I think that is pushing it so lets say Friday November 29. Homework tonight:

What a fun afternoon. We talked about hand washing and the importance of it leading up to our field trip to KSV on Monday. I used a glow powder on their hands and then we washed to see who needed extra care in hand washing. They were quite surprised with the results. Homework tonight:

We went to the book fair today to have a look around. It is so great to see children so interested in literature! We also worked on a writing activity today "Describe Three Creative Uses For..." ask your child what writing topic they spun to write about. Homework tonight:

Today we had our last DARE class. Next week they will be having a DARE graduation from 9-10 am next Wednesday. Parents are welcome to attend if they like. A reminder that the chocolate orders are due on Friday so please place your on line orders before then. Tomorrow our class will be going to the Scholastic Book Fair in the library if you would like to send your child with money to buy a book. Homework tonight:

Monday
Today the students worked really well and were really focused on their tasks today. We spent some time this morning looking at food chains and reading the book Wolf Island. The children should each be bringing home a food chain they created. Please have them explain the food chain to you and they can tell you the story of what happened on Wolf Island. They should also be able to tell you how the environment can change what happens in a food chain. Homework tonight:

Today was a VERY exciting day! This afternoon the children presented their Math Expo Projects to the class. These were all very well done. This morning Ms. Carter and I also introduced a new project the Red Cedar Book Award Program. The children will be reading books for home reading this year from the Red Cedar book list. They will create a reading log and make on line posts of their book reviews. In April they will get a chance to vote along with other children taking part in the program on their favorite book and that book will be awarded the Red Cedar Book Award. Please ask your child to show you the Red Cedar website. Homework this weekend:

Today was a busy day! We had a DARE lesson this morning where we talked about bullying. Please ask your child to tell you the different kinds of bullying and how to report it. The children also each have a small interview to conduct to an adult at home that is due back to school for next Tuesday. Wow today went fast! The students started working on a place value unit in their math books today. Please make sure that if they bring text books home for homework that they return to school the next day. There will be no spelling this week as we have a few things on the go and it is a short week. We had a good day today. The students had the chance to test their recorder today. We went to the library and did a domino activity with Ms. Carter. We ended the day in our PJ's watching a video. Homework this weekend:
